Biography Robert Scott is the ultimate Sinatra stylist, hearing is believing. He has toured Nationally and Internationally, playing prestigious Theatres, Concert Halls and Opera Houses, performed live on BBC and Commercial Radio stations on numerous occassions, and appeared on National Television. He was the chosen vocalist for the "Sinatra 90th Anniversary Tour"with the world renowned BBC RADIO BIGBAND, led by Sony World Music award winning MD Barry Forgie. Robert also entertained stars and guests at the Oceans Eleven Film Premiere in London.Closer to home in his native Scotland, Robert received a standing ovation from a capacity audience at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall as part of The Royal Scottish National Orchestra's Prom series. Another highlight was performing in front of 28000 people at Murrayfield International Stadium. Robert's love of the Great American Songbook began on hearing the music of the giants on record as a child, Basie, Ellington, Louis Armstrong and the myriad of brilliant Jazz musicians and superb vocalists of the period. Sinatra's singing style and technique however had the biggest influence on Robert and that fact coupled with an uncannily similar natural vocal timbre produces the sound which has continued to astonish Sinatra fans. Legendary American comic Don Rickles who was a friend of Sinatra's, had to be told that the recording he was listening to was not Ol' Blue Eyes himself. Fred Dellar author of "Sinatra his Life and Times" on hearing a live performance at London's Cafe De Paris described the vocal similarity as "startling!" In the ever changing world of popular music few things last, however some things become classic, as is true of Sinatra and the American Songbook. To perform these great songs to the highest standard possible and to entertain people is something Robert views as a pleasure and a privilege. |
